SAFEGUARDING

In this church, we take safeguarding very seriously. The Parochial Church Council (PCC) have adopted the House of Bishops 'Promoting A Safer Church: Safeguarding Policy Statement'.

If you have a concern about an adult or child who may be at risk, please contact our Safeguarding Officer, Mrs Julie Batters on 01484 769 358 in the first instance, or Churchwarden Mrs Andrea Haigh on 07813 828084.  You can also contact the Priest-in-Charge, the Rev'd Ericcson Mapfumo on 01484 981 632 or Ericsson.mapfumo@leeds.anglican.org

If you need to contact the Safeguarding Team for the Diocese of Leeds, in the first instance please email: safeguarding@leeds.anglican.org or ring the office on 0113 353 0258.

However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the team are currently working from home and can be reached as follows:

Carla Darbyshire - carla.darbyshire@leeds.anglican.org or 07399 809732

Jenny Leccardi - jenny.lecardi@leeds.anglican.org 07872 005189

Narinder Lyon - narinder.lyon@leeds.anglican.org 07872 005 309

If you believe a child or vulnerable adult is at immediate risk of significant harm, in the first instance, you should always contact your local social services team or the local police via 101.

The Local Authority area is Kirklees and you can contact their safeguarding team for children during working hours on 01484 456 848 or out of hours on 01484 414 933. The number for adults at risk during working hours is 01484 221 000 or out of hours 01484 414 933.

You must then inform the diocesan safeguarding officer, one of whom will usually be available between 9am - 5pm and it you require urgent advice outside these areas and cannot reach the DSA's, then please contact the Archdeacon for your area, who is the Venerable Anne Dawtry.
