Living in The Love of God, Loving One Another, Making God Known

Dear Friends,

We are looking forward to welcoming you back into our church building as soon as we are allowed to do so. We are working towards putting the correct safety measures in place, as we all try to adjust to the new normal of living with the coronavirus.

Last night, Rev'd Margaret and I met with our church wardens over zoom to discuss the issue of opening for personal private prayer. With a great deal of regret, we have decided this will not be possible at Christ Church at the moment for a few reasons, the most pressing of which is that we have a playgroup running in the back room of church, who are providing an essential service for the children of key workers. Opening the building to a wider part of the local community would inevitably put these children and the staff at risk and we cannot do this.

We are however actively preparing for the time when we will have permission to offer worship services once more and are working on the necessary preparations for cleaning, safe access and physical distancing. Our leadership team are closely following the regular guidelines issued by both government and diocese and we will update you as soon as we know more.

In the meantime, you can find a selection of resources on the "Coronavirus Resources" page at the top or by clicking the "Come on in" button and you will be automatically redirected to this section of our website. You are also welcome to visit our Facebook page which is regularly updated with additional links and reflection offerings.

We continue to pray for you and look forward to seeing you soon.

We are a friendly, vibrant church with a mixture of ages, abilities and interests.  Our church building offers level and wheelchair access and is warmly welcoming of children with additional needs and autism.  We have PECs and Social Stories available to help translate the service into autism friendly images and our children's workers are fully qualified Special Needs teachers currently working in education.  If you have any questions, you are welcome to contact our Vicar, the Rev'd Charlotte Cheshire, who will be delighted to help.
